EICR explained

An EICR inspects the fixed electrical installation. It is not the same as a new installation certificate or PAT testing of portable appliances.

Published prices: studio £99, 1–2 beds £129, 3–4 beds £149, commercial from £199.

Codes: C1 danger present; C2 potentially dangerous; C3 improvement recommended; FI further investigation. C1 and C2 usually make the report unsatisfactory until works are done.

English private landlords need an EICR at least every five years, or sooner if the report requires it.
